Rusted guns, hot shop and mayhem!!!

Today was a hot one on the temp side of things. It was 100 degrees in the shop today and bot oh boy did it feel like 125.
We had a very nice gentleman stop by today for us to take a look at some shotguns he had. He had seen us at the gun show in Kenner and wanted to bring some Katrina victims by and he DID!
These are the worse guns I've ever laid eyes on. I explained that he could do SOMETHING with them, but it would cost bucket loads of money. He says that he most likely will go the "wall hanger" route but is unsure. He WANTS to do something with his father's old guns, but doesn't know if he wants to go full tilt or not.
Last on my list is the mayhem.............. I couldn't find anything.... many expletives were thrown about! One of the AC units in the office crapped out....... more curse words flew out of my mouth! The phone kept ringing everytime I tried to do something........ and it was mostly telemarketers...... more bad words spoken!
Thank GOD tomorrow is going to be a range day. That always calms me. Happy shooting everyone!!!!!!!!!

Thank GOD the weather has started to coollately. It has made working in the shop almost enjoyable. i will say that we are cranking out more guns at a faster pace. We are working on several rust buckets at the moment and they are turning out quite nice. I haven't had the time to post many pics in the photo gallery or here in the forums, but we are getting close to purging the old memory card in the camera. We'll have a bunch of different guns going up soon.
On target is happy to announce that it will be attending the Slidell, LA gun show in early November (I believe it is the 6th and 7th). It will be our first appearance there and I hope we have a good show there. From what we are told, we have something new to offer the people who visit the slidell show. We will have more guns on display than ever before.

John...

I should try to get my Star Firestar Plus to you so that you can work your magic on it and use it as a show piece for awhile. I have a feeling once you get your paws on the Firestar you just might look into getting one for yourself. They are awesome little guns that are easy to conceal and still pack one hell of a punch. I don't know if you have ever fired one before but they handle recoil rather well and can handle +P+ ammo without a problem. However I will never use the +P+ ammo as a steady diet. It does have an aluminum frame and I don't want to batter it to death. I do send a mag or two down range to keep myself acquainted with the way the gun handles with the high power loads but for range practice I use standard Federal American Eagle which has been proven to be 100% with the Star and if you do not get groups of 2 inches or less at 7 to 10 yards then it is your fault. But it will give others the chance to see what you can do with Spanish steel and alloy frames. I guess I will just have to wait until your plate is a little less filled. It really sounds like you have and are very busy here lately. But I have to say that is a good thing. I guess I should just ask you to tell me when would be the best time to send you the gun? Once we have that nailed the faster I can shoot the Star your way. I am actually kinda' excited to see how it will turn out. I guess we also need to talk about what would be the best and most durable finishes to use. Oh well... I am pretty sure you will make her look like she should.

I'd say the best time to send it would be around the middle of November. I should be cleared up and caught up by then. I'll be finished a few of my bigger jobs by then and should finally have some breathing room. This week has been a total cluster F#$K and I'm trying to get back into my groove tomorrow, but it'll most likely be next week that the shop gets back to normal...... if there were ever such a thing!
I actually can't wait to see your Spanish Beauty in person.... she looks good in the pics!

I'd love to have it for the next three shows if i could. The Kenner show is not this weekend, but the following... October 23 & 24th, 2010!!!!!!

Hey... it's okay if I don't get my hands on it again, but i will SAD!
I'd like to show her off some more that's for sure, and I wouldn't mind a visit from one of my favorite people!

Now..... if ya' plan on waving the XD in my face...... I'm going to have to open up the safe and start waving things that are inside all around too!!! I have a few goodies up in there! If ya' play nice.... I'll arrange a play date for you!

Oh yeah!!!! The Slidell show is on November 6 & 7th, 2010.

I'll see what I can do about getting the Firestar out to you sometime in the middle of November. I say i'll try because I am doing the best I can to find a place of my onw to live in. I have been living with my brother since my divorce and really need a place of my own. I will make sure I tell you when I send it out to you. I would really like to talk to you about finishes and what you think would be best. I have a feeling you will enjoy a little hispanic steel in your hands.

Take care,
Tye
