AR-15 Possibilities - an On Target build-up!!!

This is a Stag Arms AR-15 that is a pretty basic model with a flat-top receiver. It came to us stock and all black. The owner asked us to build him an affordable custom gun. With a flat-top there are more options for looks and change ups in optics.

It has the standard plastic handguards and a removable carrying handle with integral rear sight.

The first things to go are the Stag Arms imprinted adjustable buttstock and the standard AR-15 pistol grip. The factory "birdcage" flash suppressor and the front sight/gas block assembly are being replaced as well.

The gun is also being finished in a ceramic coating. It will look nothing like its former self and shall perform better as well.

As of now, the upper and lower receivers have been coated in a dark gray metallic ceramic finish called "Tungsten". The new "Phantom" flash suppressor, the Magpul adjustable buttstock and the aluminum quad rail fore-stock will all be finished in Tungsten as well. The bolt carrier and some external items were coated in an anti-friction Reflex coating that is grayish-black in color.
The gun is new and we won't be replacing any internals. We are replacing the pistol grip with an ERGO grip and the charge handle latch is being replaced with a larger tactical unit. Plus we still have to install the Magpul curved trigger guard onto the lower receiver when we put it back together. One of the nicest changes we've made so far was to remove the front sight/gas block assembly and replace it with a 4-rail gas block from DPMS Panther.
The upper assembly is complete now and the removable flip up/ flip down adjustable front and rear sights are installed. The gun isn't finished yet, but it already looking like a champ. This gun has also received the added benefits of a full cryogenic treatment. It will shoot more accurately, run smoother and experience a longer lifespan.
We'll have more pictures up soon showing the guns progress and all of the accessories and parts. I hope this motivates you all into wanting to grab your rifle and start working on it! Have fun and good luck!

John...

It all sounds great and I can't wait for the additional update photos you have planned. And of course it gives me many ideas as to what my own AR might look like even though it has an old standard Sendra receiver with an all Colt HBAR upper. It is already a tack driver and I am sure with a few extras it will be just that much more. Especially with the cryogenic process as a begining. I know it's not as busy as you would like, but it seems you are keeping your Cryo buddy David a bit busy.

Take care and can't wait for the pictures,
Tye

That sounds great. I can't wait to see them. I just need to get things going again so I can get the pictures of my guns I want to post. Hopefully that will come sooner than later. Believe me I still have that on my min d. It seems I have finally found a place to live and I will need to get settled before I can take the pictures and post them. It's great to be able to at least acces the forum and see what is going on.

That's awesome news Tye! I'm glad that you have found a place. Excellent news indeed. Now we just have to motivate you into getting enough scratch together so you can get another computer.
Maybe there is someone out there that has one for sale at an affordable price for Tye! maybe you even have one you'd like to donate?
Tye, I myself will keep an eye out for a computer for you.

Come on everyone..... is there anyone out there that can help Tye out?

Come on, we all need more gun porn and this man knows how to dish it out, but he has a limited income and a new place to pay for. Let's have some help here.

I personally pledge $20 to start this ball rolling. Does anyone else have the means to chip in to help Tye get another computer? This man deserves our help, please help me make this a reality! Pay it forward today and one day when you need it the most, you'll have others to help you out too.
