10/3/10 Birthday Range Trip!!

Since i have a birthday coming up this week, wife "allotted" me some time this sunday morning to head to the range and put a few rounds through some paper. Shot a Beretta 92FS, and a recently acquired HK USP40 that i finally got to shoot. Used a Mixture of some Winchester White Box, a box or 2 of Herter's Steel Cased Ammo that i bought from Cabela's, and then some Remington UMC in both 9mm, and .40. So after a warm up to "knock off some rust"  here ya go:

1st up is 50 rds at 15ft with the Beretta 92FS

Followed by around 50-60 rds at 15ft with the HK USP40 where i also practiced some speed loads and tactical reloads

Kevin...

Happy Birthday.... or is it a belated Happy Birthday?

I have to say that is some excellent shooting. When the SHTF and there are few you might actually be able to trust, make sure I have you on my side. Or at least I will do all I can to not be on your bad side.  Even though it was your birthday remember to thank your wife for the time you were allowed to have at the range. It will help the next time you get the feeling you just need to go shooting but the list of "honey-do's" is as long as your arms.  I found it was always good to stay on the good side no matter what.

It looks like it is about time for me to go to the range with my Beretta or Browning and post some new targets. I wish I was at least a couple states closer so that it would be a little easier for this old man to make the trip down for a shooting vacation. It would be great to meet up with John and yourself for a little trigger time together. The only trouble would be in figuring out what guns to bring.

Take care,
Tye

Kevin...

Just give me the time and you just might find me on your doorstep, holster on and filled with my favorite and range bag loaded and ready to go. I just need to start feeling good enough for a long road trip. I have not been on vacation in about 15 years so it would be a much deserved rest.

Take care,

It can't get any better then to have friends around when it's time to hit the range with the selected toys all want to enjoy. Then it's even better to be able to share your guns with others who may have never fired guns like the ones you might have. Always great to share.

I honestly wish I lived closer because it would be great to get together for some range time. The next time John opens the big safe snap a few pictures. I am sure the gun porn abounds. I would love to get together with selected weapons and take over the range. It would also give us all a chance to shoot weapons each have and possibly weapons that we have never fired before.

Hopefully that chance will occur.

Take care,
Tye

update: on Sunday the 28th i made another trip to my local indoor range.  unfortunately i forgot the camera and my phone was dying so no pictures. however we brought a plethora of toys to the range to play around with the list is as follows:

Beretta 92FS
HK USP40
Taurus PT-140
Springfield 1911 (damn i loved this one)
Ruger SR9
Taurus PT-101
Walther P22
Springfield XDm40
and a Smith N Wesson .357

we tore it up for a few hours and had a blast. wish i had some pictures but take my word that everyone did very well
